Diavik selected as one of Canada's top 100 employers
Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. (DDMI), operator of the Diavik Diamond Mine, is pleased to announce we have been selected as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2010.
"This national recognition reflects our strong commitment to workplace excellence and is an endorsement our entire workforce can share and be very proud of," said Kim Truter, Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. President and Chief Operating Officer.
Diavik is the only employer in Canada's North selected as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2010. This recognition comes as we begin to hire our underground mining teams for the planned start of underground mine production, due to commence early next year. Diavik, which began rough diamond production in 2003, is currently an open pit operation and expects to complete the transition to an all underground mine in 2012.
