Donations

Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. strives to support community based projects that can make a difference in a sustainable way for present and future generations without creating dependency. The focus of Diavik's sponsorship and donations contribution efforts is generally on the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Territory's West Kitikmeot.

Principles
The principle goals of the Diavik donations and sponsorship program are to help develop the sustainability and self-sufficiency of our neighbouring communities and to enhance the quality of life for community residents, including Diavik employees. In reaching these goals, Diavik will follow these principles:
• Respect for and recognition of community and cultural values
• Co-commitment and partnering  with community project owners
• Support Diavik's strategic priorities
• Long term value and capacity building

Eligibility
Consideration by the Diavik donations committee will be given to projects that address the areas of:
• Youth and healthy lifestyles
• Elders
• Aboriginal culture
• Community health and wellness
• Partnering
• Capacity building

Diamond donations
Diavik will consider donating polished diamonds to registered charities who commit to significantly increase the diamond's value through their fundraising.

Application and approval process
Applicants must submit their applications on the Diavik Contributions Request form by mail, fax, or email to the Community and Corporate Affairs department who will forward applications to the donations committee. To support the committee, the Director, Community & Corporate Affairs will provide successful applicants with necessary logos or materials required to acknowledge Diavik's support and will arrange for any media coverage.
